Thank you so much for your interest in ordering a custom piece of art, the following is everything you need to know before you reach out:
Process
The process for ordering a custom piece of art from me is quite simple and you have already started the first step!
Read up on my process and pricing to make sure this is the right fit for you. If you haven’t already please visit my website or instagram to get a good idea of my usual subjects and style. If all looks good fill out the booking form below and I will reach out to let you know where you are on the waitlist/when i’ll be able to get started.
After i’ve reached out with a timeline, if it works for you, we will start discussing in greater detail what you have in mind for the painting/drawing (subject, style, size) If you are ordering a portrait of a family member or friend I will ask you to email me a reference photo at this point. Often times I will meet with clients via zoom for the initial consultation, this is not mandatory but It’s always nice to have a face and voice behind the emails!
Once we have come to an agreement on the content, price, and timeline I will send over an invoice. I will begin work only after a minimum of 50% of the final payment has been made (not including shipping).
This is the fun part… I start painting! I am active on social media which means I often share my process publicly. If you would prefer I keep the process private please let me know in advance so I can be sure to keep it hidden from the camera. I will reach out with timing updates every once in a while so you have an idea of where I am at, please specify if you would like me to send you progress photos directly, otherwise I will wait until the painting is finished to send you a photo.
Once I have completed the painting I will send over a photo. At this point you may inform me of any minor changes you would like me to make, if any. After three corrections, any additional changes will include a $25 fee. Examples of minor changes: eyes, mouth, nose, etc. too big/small, lightening or darkening image, adjusting colors, etc.
If everything looks great you can send over any remaining payment. I will package up your painting/drawing and ship it out. Similar to the process I post images of all my completed works on my website as well as my social accounts. Please let me know if you are not comfortable with this and I will make sure to keep it out of the public eye.
Reference Photo
When choosing your reference photo there are a few things to keep in mind:
High quality photos make for high quality paintings. Check to make sure your photo is clear, in focus, and the file size isn’t too small. Although I can and have accepted blurry reference photos, I strongly discourage them; It negatively impacts the amount of detail I can include in the final work as well as elongating and making the process more difficult all around.
Please make sure you own the rights to the photo you provide. I can not make a direct copy of a photographer’s work unless I have received explicit, clear, and written permission to do so and you are responsible for obtaining this permission.
I can combine multiple references, and actually prefer multiple! Often times I will switch out backgrounds, or use additional photos as comparison when painting a portrait to make sure it is as accurate as possible. Don’t be afraid to send me whatever you’ve got because it will only help my process (Just please keep it under 10 photos if possible!)
Pricing/Payment
Prices are dependent on size, complexity, medium, and timeline. They range anywhere from $250 to >$10k
I accept all standard credit/debit options, Paypal, Venmo, Cashapp, and Zelle
Some standard prices are as follows (not including shipping):
Charcoal Drawing (1-3 people or a landscape/abstract) + $100 per person
9” x 12” - $250
11” x 14” - $365
18” x 24” - $1035
Oil Painting (1-3 people or a landscape/abstract) + $150 per person
9” x 12” - $475
11” x 14” - $675
14” x 18” - $1060
18” x 24” - $1815
24” x 36” - $3450
36” x 48” - $6910
Please keep in mind the above prices are for standard sizes/images. For highly complex works, sizes not listed, or any special circumstances please explain your situation in the description section of the submission form and we will negotiate price during the initial consultation.
Additional Information
Checks will only be accepted by verified sources
If possible reach out 4-6+ months before your intended finish date. Creativity takes time (100-300+ hours to be precise) and there may be a waitlist!
There will be a $500 rush fee for any oil paintings with a time line of 30 days or less.
